These trims add refined powertrain and chassis upgrades, along with sporty design elements, to the existing models. This line is a part of the ‘N’ product portfolio that includes the ‘N’ range of vehicles. These changes and additions are meant to enhance driving dynamics and compete heavily with other hatchback models. Can you tell me more about the N-Line design elements?
To start it off, standard interior elements with the N-Line include red stitching and red accents, a sporty instrument cluster and instrument panel accents, N-Line gearshift with sporty metal accents and leather inserts, N-Line leather sport seats with N logo, and unique leather-wrapped perforated N steering wheel with metallic spokes. Beyond these standard features, the N-Line is looking to take eye-catching designs from other Hyundai models, including lowering the front spoiler for an increase in aerodynamics and including a unique take on Hyundai’s Cascading Grille. The N-Line also includes a unique bumper fascia, 18-inch wheels, N-Line badging, and blacked-out side mirrors with turn signals.
What about technology?
The N-Line most definitely does not skimp when it comes to available technology. This line offers a technology package that will get you an auto-dimming rearview mirror with Blue Link and HomeLink, driver attention warning, lane keep assist, high beam assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, smart cruise control with start/stop capability, a wireless charging pad, Infinity Premium Audio with 7-speakers, a power driver’s seat with lumbar support, ventilated seats, Blue Link Connected Car System, an 8-inch Navigation system, and a panoramic sunroof. Have the mechanics changed at all?
The mechanics of the Elantra GT have changed with the N-Line! For starters, the engine mount stiffness is now at +6.3%, the shocks have new tuning, the spring stiffness is now +14.3% for the front and +21.9% for the rear. The steering has a new calibration, and the trans mount stiffness has been upped to +24.0%. You’ll also be getting a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission. You can opt for a seven-speed DCT, which comes with larger steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.
